Today I had a great opportunity to incorporate some cross training – Stand Up Paddle surfing – into my training routine for the Transrockies ultra marathon in August 2015. In any event I find running every day quite boring and very hard on the body. By now every muscle and tendon in my lower body has been tight, twisted, cramped and you name it since I started training early this year. I typically incorporate weight training and yoga on weekly basis but had very little chance to surf this year, mainly due to poor conditions and overloaded schedule. My coach, Jacob Puzey compiled a bunch of information about strength training HERE , meanwhile I enjoyed surfing on Long Island this morning.
