I was asked frequently how do I train for the Transrockies, a multi day trail run that covers 56 miles and nearly 9,000 ft of elevation gain. The answer is Phases. The idea is that our body can not be in top shape 365 days a year, and performance should be built over a period of time leading to the event. The phases are Base, Build, Peak, Taper, (Race) followed by Recovery. Jesica D’Avanza wrote a great post which you can read HERE.
