As I get closer to race day I am practicing race day(s) nutrition. I am familiar with the importance of race day nutrition from the half ironman triathlons which I completed before I was diagnosed with Cancer. This race is different though; while I do not expect to be out on the trail more hours than I spent while participating in half ironman events, I will spend three consecutive days which means I need to also think of how to eat so recover well for the next day. I also adopted the Paleo diet after I received chemotherapy so I refrain from several food products that can help with recovery.
